Har-Tru is excited to announce its partnership as the official hardcourt surface provider for the 2025 Cincinnati Open. The sponsorship supports the tournament's $260 million campus transformation and marks Har-Tru's continued expansion as the surface provider for three of the most significant hardcourt tournaments leading into the US Open.
The Cincinnati Open is one of the oldest and most prestigious tournaments in professional tennis—first held in 1899. As a combined ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 event, it plays a vital role in the summer season. The tournament has a loyal fanbase, deep legacy, and reputation for being a standout stop on the global tennis calendar.
This year marks a major change for the campus and the tournament. The campus is a reimagined facility, with a new 2,000-seat sunken stadium, a 56,000-square-foot, two-story Player Center, and a 19,000-square-foot Pavilion for fans. The tournament is also changing, expanding to a 14-day, 96-player event. That means more tennis across more courts for an improved player and fan experience.
The expanded campus will feature 31 outdoor courts—up from 21 last year—to accommodate the larger player field. Each court will be coated with Har-Tru Sports Coatings, made to tournament specifications with an ITF Court Pace Rating of 4.0.
Har-Tru is the surface provider for three of the biggest hardcourt tournaments leading into the US Open—the Mubadala Citi DC Open, National Bank Open, and now the Cincinnati Open—playing a critical support role in the summer season for both the ATP and WTA tours.
"We are pleased to be working with Har-Tru as our official court surface provider," said Bob Moran, Tournament Director of the Cincinnati Open. "It's an extremely important step for us to be aligning with Tennis Canada and Washington, D.C., to provide the players a consistent speed and surface for the summer swing of the ATP and WTA Tours."
Har-Tru's Sports Coatings offer athletes a reliable surface that enhances playability and supports performance on some of the sport's biggest stages. In addition, Har-Tru's partnerships across these events strengthens collaboration among tournament organizers—helping to deliver a unified experience for players, fans, and the broader tennis community.
"It is such a privilege for Har-Tru to be the official hardcourt surface of the Cincinnati Open," said Pat Hanssen, President of Har-Tru. "Our company feels a special attachment to this tournament. Like Har-Tru, it has an amazing history and legacy in tennis. Additionally, the tournament's spirit of innovation, commitment to quality, and desire to provide the best possible experience for its customers are values that we also strive to embody. I am so glad that our company gets to play a role in making the 2025 Cincinnati Open a success."
The 2025 Cincinnati Open will be held from August 5 to 18, ushering in a new era for one of the sport's most beloved tournaments—with Har-Tru proudly supporting every step of the action.
