  • SERVING UP AN INNOVATIVE TENNIS SURFACE THAT’S PERFECTLY POSITIONED FOR INDOOR PLAY

    May 5, 2010

Charlottesville, VA  – Lee Tennis Court Products extends its clay courts line and the tennis season by installing the first bubbled ClayTech™ courts at Wheaton Sports Center, outside of Chicago, Il. ClayTech will now provide unlimited play year-round, with minimal maintenance, maximum playability and injury protection. Tennis players love to play on clay courts often and for a long period without overtaxing their bodies, rain or shine. Compared to other clay court surfaces, ClayTech is easier to maintain and thus more playable indoors.

“Converting our HAR-TRU® courts to ClayTech bubbled courts has been one of our best decisions,” said Dawn Szumski, General Manager at Wheaton Sports Center. According to Szumski, converting the three HAR-TRU surfaces to ClayTech bubbled courts was a result of their passion for continued innovation and exceptional indoor clay court playability with minimal required maintenance.  Szumski commented, “Sentiment from our players is that the bubbled ClayTech courts are more consistent and play significantly better and all we have to do is sweep and line them once a day and occasionally spray them with water to keep the dust down.”

According to Pat Hanssen, director of sales at LTCP, ClayTech, an innovative surface, is making a niche for itself in the indoor environment. “ClayTech cleverly blends slide comfort, extreme playability with minimal body injuries and maintenance.”  Hanssen added. Installing ClayTech indoors allows Tennis players, pros and club managers to experience the optimal benefits of clay year-round.”

The ClayTech courts at Wheaton Sports Center were installed by Midwest Tennis located in Westmont, Il.  Paul Tulacka, the owner of Midwest Tennis, commented on the installation process.  “If you currently have HAR-TRU courts, this is a very simple change.  The existing courts serve as the base for an asphalt pad and once this is complete the ClayTech glues down in as little as three days.”

LTCP is currently working with Calgary Tennis Club to convert three HAR-TRU courts to ClayTech this spring.  “We are absolutely thrilled about the endless opportunities that help more tennis players play the game for life,” says Hanssen, “Our job is to make others’ jobs easier; to work with club managers and pros to ensure they’re providing the best playing experience for their members and to make owning a court practical and simple.”

LTCP offers a wide variety of clay tennis surfaces, lighting and court accessories to meet individual customer needs. For information about Wheaton Sport Center, check out www.wheatonsportcenter.com
